Whether you call it work-life balance, work-life blend, or maybe even want to achieve work-life flow, you’ll know what it’s like to juggle work and life.
Perhaps you also know what it’s like when the balance is off. When the juggling fails. Work-life balance coaching with me can help.
Most of the people I speak to about their work-life balance feel stressed. They feel overwhelmed or even burnt-out. They feel guilty for spending too much time on work and not enough on their family. They’re frustrated because they’re not living the life they want: a life in which they have a fulfilling career, but also have time for themselves, for family, for hobbies, exercise—perhaps even a side business.
In one of my workshops, A. talked about how she was unhappy with how she spent her mornings. She had a long commute and would often leave the house before her family was even up. This meant that she beat rush hour and arrived at her office when no one else was there. But she never felt like she made good use of those early morning hours. Instead, she’d spend them answering emails, and not get to her research (the most important thing to her) until the evening when she was back at home. After the workshop she took her email off her phone, and started to spend her early morning hours on her research, leaving her with more time for her family in the evenings.
Work-life balance coaching is all about addressing those feelings and making changes. About setting boundaries, saying ’no’ and feeling good about it. About finding more pockets of time and rest—without working harder or more. And I’m here to support you through it all.
Working with me
Our time spend working together starts with a 30-minute clarity call in which we discover whether we are a good fit. This call is free of charge, and there are no strings attached: if you decide that we’re not a good fit, there are absolutely no hard feelings.
Once we commit to working together, I’ll send you a questionnaire with some questions about what your work-life balance is currently like, where you struggle and what you’d like to change. This helps me to make our time together focused.
The first call is about creating clarity around any feelings of overwhelm, stress, burn-out or frustration you might have. We talk about what you’re experiencing, what you currently spend your time on and what gives you energy. We discuss the changes you want to make, and possible avenues for making these changes happen.
My aim is for you to feel empowered and in control of your life. To feel strong and secure in your choices and in how you spend your time. Whether you’re working a 9-to-5 or have your own business.
If you book a package of 4 calls (or a series of one-off calls), our next calls are spend on further unpicking sources of stress, overwhelm, burn-out and frustration. I’ll offer strategies and habits that you can try out and experiment with. We also discuss the kinds of boundaries you need, how to set them in place and how to communicate them.
In between the calls you’ll work on the strategies that I suggest and do exercises that I’ll provide. I’m also available in between calls for additional support via email.
In our final call together we’ll look back at how far you’ve come and create a plan of action that you can continue with.
At the start of the covid-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020, I worked with a client who had suddenly lost all structure to his days. The projects he was meant to be working on were cancelled, and he lost all motivation to do anything else. In our time working together, he experimented with a variety of ways of adding more structure to his days. He found new projects to work on, and habits that helped him get down to work (and stay focused).
Are you ready to change your work-life balance? Get in touch with me for a clarity-call, or send me a message with any questions you might have. I’d love to support you as you create the work-life balance you long for.
