You are allowed: giving yourself permission to rest and want more

I’ve been thinking a lot these past weeks about what I allow myself to do-especially around rest. By necessity as well as by choice, I’ve built a lot of rest into my days. But what I’ve been struggling with lately is allowing myself rest that is not planned.

Rest outside of my 30 minutes of reading before work, outside of my midday nap, outside of quiet evenings and early bedtimes. I’ve been struggling with allowing myself to rest on top of all these scheduled moments of rest.

Part of that struggle is grief at feeling the way I have, part of that is sheer annoyance. And while I still feel those things, reframing the need for more rest is terms of something I allow myself has helped. It feels more like a choice than something that is forced on me. I feel grief, and frustration and am allowing myself to rest.

What are you allowing yourself?

Allowing is about tending to, listening to, those desires and needs that we often push to the side—whether it’s our need for more rest, or our desire for a life that looks differently. Allowing is about exploring a life that is perhaps different from what you were taught.

Allowing is about tending to, listening to, those desires and needs that we often push to the side.

You are allowed to rest.

You are allowed to choose your own needs and desires over productivity and hustle culture.

You are allowed to want a different life.

You are allowed to want more space.

You are allowed to want to make more money.

You are allowed to have a more flexible business.

You are allowed to work less.

You are allowed a business away from the norm.

How I’m finding more focus in my business right now

Ground, focus and plan: crafting an intentional year in your business (workshop)

Discover mentoring designed for humanness

If you’ve been craving gentle but focused support in your business—the kind that brings clarity, calm and confidence—my 1:1 mentoring might be exactly what you need.

Over the years, I’ve realised that the real work of mentoring doesn’t just happen during the call—it happens in the quiet moments afterwards, when you’re experimenting, reflecting, and finding your rhythm.

Have you ever ended a coaching call feeling inspired and ready to go, only to sit down later and start second-guessing yourself?

“It’s so comforting knowing you’re there,” one current client told me about the ongoing support between calls.

It takes a lot of confidence to stay accountable and keep moving in those in-between moments—and we’re not meant to do this business thing alone. That’s exactly where mentoring can make all the difference. My approach gives you the space, support and accountability to keep moving—gently, but consistently.

I’ve currently got space for new mentoring clients to start. We’ll work together for 3 months, helping to shape the business that you crave—whether it’s a business that fits your life, needs and desires more, whether you want to pivot or introduce more offers, whether you want your marketing to feel more like you, or whether you’re starting from scratch.

I’d love to know what resonates with you from this post.

Please feel free to share this post it with business friends, in your newsletter or elsewhere. 💛

I’d love to support you in all phases of your business. Providing clarity, focus and next steps is something that my clients tell me I’m really good at. If you’re curious about how we can work together through 1:1 mentoring, check out what I offer or send me an email–no strings attached. I have payment plans available, and flexible options for mentoring calls.
